Birth Doula Care
My clients include those choosing both home birth and hospital birth settings, with a range of care providers; Midwives, Family Doctors and Obstetricians. As your doula I will help you get the information you need to make the choices that are right for you and your family in your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. I have extensive experiences with vaginal birth after caesarean “VBAC” (home and hospital) “older moms”, twins, trans and queer families, high risk and special situations.
My doula services include:

One or two prenatal visits together with you and your partner, by video/in your home

Here we will discuss any preparation for labour and birth; breathing and relaxation techniques; massage; acupressure; comfort positions; nutritional advice, etc. I will answer any questions you have, and we can talk about what you would like in your birth, and what to expect in your labour. You will get a picture of life with a newborn, and feel more confident about how you are preparing for the transition to a bigger family!

On-call doula support 24/7
On-call doula support 24/7
I provide continuous doula support for your labour and birth. After the birth I will help with initial breastfeeding and support, staying with you for an hour or 2 until you are comfortably tucked in with your new baby and ready to enjoy your new family.

At this time, we can talk about the birth, and celebrate your newborn. If you like, I can provide assistance with breastfeeding, emotional support, new mother self-care tips, infant soothing techniques and provide referrals to community resources as needed. If you would like additional home visits, I am also available for postpartum doula services.

Some of the tools of my trade are use of TENS unit; physio ball; hot packs; rebozo; knowledge of homeopathy, bach flower remedies, aromatherapy. I help your partner to be involved to their comfort level, and give guidance and direction as needed.
